The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures at the University
of Illinois offers Swedish language instruction from beginning to
advanced levels and courses in Viking mythology, the Icelandic sagas,
Swedish film, and various topics in Scandinavian literature taught
in English. Old Norse is offered at the graduate level. Undergraduates
choosing the Scandinavian option as their major spend a year studying
abroad.
