Carlie joined the Piper Center in October 2024. Before joining the St. Olaf community, Carlie most recently was serving as a Director of Communication and Community Engagement at a pediatric developmental therapy clinic in Saint Peter, MN. There she focused on strategic planning, brand development, and helped with a nonprofit startup focused on supporting parents and caregivers to learn developmental best practices in working with young children.
Carlie has been passionate about helping individuals of all ages and backgrounds reach their potential in supportive and engaging environments for over a decade. Some of Carlie’s previous roles include serving as a Student Success Specialist for TRIO SSS students at University of South Dakota; Area Coordinator for Student Recruitment & Academic Support at Kansas State University; Student Success Specialist at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota; Academic Advisor, Recruitment & Orientation Coordinator at Oregon State University’s College of Business; and Student Services and Academic Coordinator at the former Minnesota School of Business in Rochester, MN.
As a liberal arts graduate from Gustavus Adolphus College, Carlie recognizes the importance of a close-knit, globally minded educational environment, and is so excited to serve as a supportive presence for St. Olaf students. She actually began her journey of assisting students in identifying their strengths and next steps during a multi-year internship in an office analogous to the Piper Center, which emphasized vocational discernment, during her undergraduate studies. Her love for engaging students in meaningful self-discovery led her to complete a Master’s in Higher Education Administration with an emphasis in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from NOVA Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Carlie is also a certified Gallup Strengths Coach.
Carlie recently moved to an old farmhouse in Northfield with her husband and two young children. In her free time, she enjoys baking, thrifting for treasures, yoga, hiking, playing with her kids, and spending time with family.
