Victor M. Fernandes is a Brazilian PhD in Philosophy from UNISINOS (Brazil/RS) with a dedicated focus on Kierkegaard studies since his undergraduate years. His Master’s thesis, which explored Kierkegaard’s critique of the Hegelian system found in the Concluding Unscientific Postscript (1846), was chosen as the best in Brazil for the 2016-2018 period by ANPOF (National Association of Graduate Studies in Philosophy). His PhD dissertation investigated Kierkegaard’s relationship with the concept of “Category,” reconstructing a table of categories through a critical and ontologically grounded approach. In addition to Kierkegaard, his main academic interests include metaphysics, and the works of Aristotle, Kant, Hegel, and Heidegger, as well as any themes that can connect these thinkers.

Dr. Fernandes was awarded 2024-2025 Kierkegaard House Foundation Fellowship, joining the library for this one-year research position starting in September 2024.
