2008 - 2009 Tundra Coring Pics We worked just north of the boreal forest-tundra ecotone near Nejanilini Lake which is about 150 miles west of Hudsons Bay and Churchill Manitoba. We stayed at Nejanilini Lodge! Water and surface sediment samples were collected from ~50 lakes. Sediment and peat were collected from longer cores. Soil samples were also collected and ground-truthing for remote sensing classification was also performed. The project is funded by NSF and is a collaboration of St. Olaf, Bowdoin, Trinity, and the Science Museum of Minnesota. |
