Are you using Excel but not really sure what you are doing? Do you maintain spreadsheets (inherited from a former co-worker, right?) but are not really sure how they work? We'll take mystery out of Excel in this introductory workshop. You'll learn how to navigate Excel (including the new user interface in Excel 2010), write simple formulas, and format a nice looking spreadsheet.

Google Maps Engine
Tuesday, April 29, 2014, 3:15 PM to 4:45 PM, RML 250

Interested in the use of online maps in academic courses and research projects? This workshop will introduce you to making and sharing maps with Google Maps Engine. You will learn to create maps using existing basemaps provided by Google and to add data from spreadsheets/.csv files or .kml files created in ArcGIS. When your maps are finished, you can share them with other users via Google Drive or embed them in WordPress or Moodle sites.

Screencasting

Interested in creating brief screencasts to provide lecture material to students  or to give online training to student workers or colleagues? This workshop will introduce you to to screencasting, both preparing your script/slides and recording the screencast with Screenflow or Camtasia. Afterwards, you will learn to edit the screencast and share it with others via Google Drive, Moodle, or WordPress.
