The following is some basic information regarding some of the more common issues and concerns of clubs and organizations.

Student Organization Funding

Student organizations are strongly encouraged to fundraise throughout the year to help them fund their group's activities.

All recognized clubs are eligible to receive funds from SOC two different ways:

  • Grants: These help pay for a standing activity or the purchase of durable goods and other capital. Grants are not awarded for one-time special events or purchases of temporary materials.
  • Co-sponsorships: These funds assist groups that organize one-time special events such as conferences, speakers, or trips.

Applications are available from the Office of Student Activities and require an Advisor's signature before it can be considered by SOC. This signature is not for your "approval" but rather to make sure that you are informed about the group's financial request.

Outside Vendors for Fundraising

All campus-affiliated student organizations desiring to sell merchandise or services on campus must schedule that activity through the director of the Buntrock Commons. If an organization is selling merchandise through an outside vendor (i.e. sweaters, posters), a contract must be arranged at least two weeks prior to the sale through the director of the Commons.

Publicity for Club Activities

Clubs and organizations are encouraged to get the word out about their activities and events. While doing this though it is important for them to follow campus guidelines. These can be found at the following links:
