Class of 2008

  • Amanda Bolland is a graduate student in the Library Science/Archives Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and will graduate in 2010 with her Masters and in 2011 with her Archives Certification.
  • Tiffany Bratten will be attending the College of Osteopathic Medicine Medical School at Des Moines University.
  • Vanessa (Sandra) Iiams is a graduate student in the Chemistry Program at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign.
  • Pao Lor is a Clinical Assistant at Minnesota Gastroenterology, P.A. Pao electronically charts patient's medical records, obtains patient's vital signs and medical history during the office visit, performs medication injections per provider's orders, and instructs patients on their care plan and discharge procedures.
  • Heather Lynch has accepted a teaching position with Littleton Elementary School District in Arizona.
  • Michelle Pease will be student teaching this Fall.
  • Katie Stenseth is a Registered Nursed at Gillette Children's Hospital. Katie works on the Medical Trauma Unit caring for children.
  • Mai Nhia Thao is a Mental Health Counselor for South Metro Human Services working closely with residents on their treatment goals and follow-up care.
  • Ying Thao is a Clinical Assistant at Minnesota Gastroenterology, P.A. Ying is responsible for electronically charting patient's medical records, obtaining patient's vital signs and medical history during the office visit, performs phlebotomy or medication injections per provider's orders, and instructs patients on their care plan and discharge procedures.
  • Ka Zoua Xiong is teaching Hmong Language and Culture to native and non-native Hmong speakers at the College of St. Catherine.

Class of 2007

  • Freida Bou is a Product Coordinator for Target Corporation. She is attending Brainco School of Advertising, Design, and Interactive Studies in the Art Direction program and plans to graduate with a masters degree in 2009.
  • Colette Cave is currently an Analytical Chemist Researcher with Donaldson Company Inc. which involves the research of the company's filter products. Colette was married this past April.
  • Jenna Erickson is a Fifth Year Art Apprentice in the Art Department at St. Olaf College.
  • Sophia McComb is as a Para-Educator in the Cherry Creek School District (Aurora, CO) and assists teaching Kindergarten.
  • Mohamed Osman is a Behavioral Counselor/Lifestyle Coach at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Mohamed plans to return to school to get his masters in Psychology in 2008.
  • Branden Moriarity is enrolled at the University of Minnesota in the Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics program.
  • Norma Reynolds is attending the University of Nebraska College of Law.
  • Thown Va Thor (formerly La Da) is a Social Studies Teacher at Long Tieng Academy.
  • Hoang Ton is a graduate student at the Humphrey Institute in the Master of Urban and Regional Planning program.
  • Leigh Vang is a Case Manager at Resource, Inc. Leigh works with her clients, who are currently in MFIP, in assisting them to achieve economic stability and self-sufficiency.
  • Kham Vang is currently a Production Coordinator with Target Headquarters. In this position, Kham works on a Target international team from China, Taiwan and India to make decisions and changes to merchandise overseas before distributing to Target stores throughout the USA. As a team member, she travels to these countries to oversee their merchandise planning/production to better the quality of Target store merchandise.

Class of 2006

  • Mary Earm is working as an Academic Advisor for the St. Olaf GEAR UP Program.
  • Wendy Gonzalez is a graduate student at Boston University.
  • Mustafa Dualeh is a graduate student at Brandeis University studying Sustainable International Development and Conflict Resolution.
  • Salah Mohamed is a Social Worker for Family Service of Rochester/Olmsted County. In January of 2007, Salah received his Masters of Business Administration in International Business. Salah is now working on a prevention research project through the Wilder Foundation to discover if poverty does lead to child abuse. He will be working with Somali families in Olmsted County to assist them in overcoming barriers, identifying community resources, and help them become better parents. Salah was married in March of 2007.
  • Lily Moua is a part-time Human Resource Specialist for Target Corporation and attending the University of Minnesota: Humphrey Institute/Carlson School of Management in the Masters of Public Policy in Human Resource Management and Leadership program. Lily will receive her degree in the Spring of 2009.
  • Youa Moua is a TRiO/Educational Talent Search Project Advisor for Century College. Youa works in the St. Paul Arlington and Johnson High Schools advising students about college and assisting them with ACT registration, financial aid and college application process. During the summer months, she works as a Youth Counselor for Youth Career Awareness Program (YCAP) at Dunwoody College of Technology. In this position, she assists students in their college summer courses and the application process for college.
  • Kia Thao is an Academic Advisor in the Upward Bound Program at St. Olaf College.
  • Jonathan Tischler is attending graduate school in Public Policy at the University of Minnesota.
  • Pa Vang is a Career Counselor/Employment Specialist with Resource, Inc. within the dislocated worker's program. Pa will be heading back to school in the fall of 2008.
  • Trey Williams is an Admissions Counselor in the Admissions Office at St. Olaf College.
  • Neenah Yang works in the Minneapolis Public School District as a Check and Connect Monitor/Associate Educator. Neenah provides intense monitoring, intervention, and support to students in the Minneapolis School District. She consults daily with teachers and parents regarding attendance, behavior and academic performance.

Class of 2005

  • Sandra Aldana is an Asset Leasing and Control Specialist at Ecolab Inc. In her spare time, Sandra is taking graduate classes at St. Mary's University and will graduate with a Master of Arts in International Business this summer (2008).
  • Jared Cooper is the President of Aesthetic Appeal Lawn Treatments: a division of J.W. Cooper Ltd which specializes in non-toxic lawn and garden treatments. For more information visit his web site at www.notchemlawn.com.
  • Griselda Orzoco is currently working as an Employment Counselor for Chicanos Latinos Unidos en Servicio CLUES in the Minneapolis. In her position, she works with diverse populations helping them meet their social and economic goals.
  • Nguyen-Ngoc Pham is a Laboratory Medical Technologist at the Mayo Clinic/Allied Health. In August, she will be attending the University of South Dakota in the Physician Assistant program. Nguyen-Ngoc hopes to one day open her own naturopathic clinic and relaxation center.
  • Devlin Shaughnessy spent 2006 as an english instructor in South Korea. Following his adventure in South Korea, Devlin was a Central European Tour Coordinator out of Rochester, MN. Devlin is currently employed with Rosetta Stone Ltd. as a software salesman of interactive language learning software.
Class of 2004
  • Kristin Florek (formerly Brodhun) is currently working for Caribou Coffee in Duluth and began her master program in August '05 at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
  • Shawntel Carter is currently working for Medtronic as a Clinical Studies Coordinator.
  • Lauretta Dawalo is working at Insight News, Inc./McFarlane Media Interests in Minneapolis, MN. She is the Producer Assistant for the KMOS/KFAI radio show. She also provides marketing and sales support for McFarlane Media Interests.
  • Melissa Hinderscheit is working for the St. Olaf TRiO/ETS Program as an Academic Advisor.
  • Lisa Passus is working in downtown Minneapolis with Wells Fargo Bank Corporation. She works in the Trust Operations, within the CD/Savings Bonds Department.
  • Lindsay Schafer is currently attending Yonsei University's Korean Language Institute while working as an English teacher for Chungdahm Institute in Seoul, South Korea.
  • Mee Yang is working at Jane Adams School for Democracy and the Youth Farm Market Project with Americorps VISTA. She is enjoying working with children and youth, but most importantly she loves the opportunity to work in a very unique environment.

Class of 2003

  • John Chapman is an After School Specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia. In addition to his job with the Fairfax County Public Schools, John is the campaign manager for Justin Wilson, candidate for the Alexandria City Council. In April of 2007, John was awarded the Virginia Democrat of the Year Award.
  • Tung Do is currently working for Sun Country Airlines as a sales representative. He was recently reunited with his wife Diem Thi Le, who just immigrated to the U.S from Vietnam.
  • Saroeun Earm is a student at John Hopkins University School of Advance International Studies in the International Relations and Economics program with her focus on Southeast Asia. She will graduate in the Spring of 2008. This summer (2007) she is interning for the Clinton Foundation in Hanoi, Vietnam. This foundation focuses on mapping intervention of HIV/AIDS in Vietnam and focusing on prevention of mother to child transmission and pediatric care.
  • Sandra Forsyth is currently the Assistant Director of Admissions, Full-time UST MBA Programs at University of St. Thomas. Sandra received her M.A. Management, M.A. Non-Profit Management degree from Hamline University in the Spring of 2006.
  • Reggie Fuller is currently pursuing a Doctorate in chiropractic at Northwestern Health Science University and is projected to graduate in June 2007.
  • Linda Her is a Hmong Interpreter/Case Manager for Kaukauna Area School District and the Hmong American Partnership. Linda is also a student in the Alternative Teacher Certification Program at Marian College of Fond du Lac and will receive her teaching certification in 2009.
  • Pajnhiag Nengchu completed her Pharmacy Doctorate in May 2008 and is currently living on her own in St. Paul. She will be completing her 1-year of residency training in June 2009 and hopes to move out of state by the end of 2009.
  • William Palmieri teaches History and an African Studies class at Kildonan School in Amenia, NY. Will just recently returned from a 3 week trip to Tanzania where he lead a group of 20 students.
  • Marcelino Pena is an Assistant Logistics Director in the International Logistics Department of Morgan Fabrics. Marcelino has been with Morgan Fabrics for over 2 years and has been studying independently on various subjects including accounting, statistics, business model development, USA International Policy, USA Imperialism and auto maintenance. He was married in October 2004 and welcomed their first child in October 2006. Marcelino plans to continue his formal education by pursuing a MA in Political Economics with a concentration in Sustainable Development.
  • Jade Soik is currently an English teacher at the YES Youngdo English School in Korea and will be pursuing a Master in Social Work at St. Thomas University.
  • Yesenia Velazquez is a Career Counselor for Employment Action Center (a division of Resource), a non-profit agency serving the Minneapolis community. Yesenia works with a variety of individuals, consisting of homeless men and women, ex-offenders, recent immigrants, veterans, general assistance recipients, and walk- ins looking for a job. She is also enrolled at the College of St. Catherine/University of St. Thomas School of Social Work and plans to graduate in 2009 with her MA in Clinical Social Work.
Class of 2002
  • Adam Bad Wound is currently a student at Stanford University in the Department of Social Sciences, Policy and Educational Practice (SSPEP) and in the Policy, Organization and Leadership Studies (POLS) Program. He will graduate with his PH.D in 2009. As a research assistant in the Behavior Research Cluster of Stanford University's Precourt Institute for Energy Efficiency, Adam Bad Wound '02 developed a searchable bibliographic database of relevant literature on behavior, energy and climate change. Adam's research was recently cited in congressional testimony. <Read More>.
  • Stacy Ellefson is a Campaign Coordinator and Regional Field Director for the House DFL Caucus. In this position, Stacy coordinates campaigns for candidates running for the Minnesota House of Representatives. She continues to work on her media studies master thesis through Syracuse University's S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications program.
  • Dennika Maly (formerly Masters) is living in St. Michael, and has been working as field service coordinator for CRS/Lawrence Service. She will be promoted to Operations Management at the end of this year. In her position, she manages over 300 employees (service representatives/merchandisers) in the states of CA, NY, MA, CT, RI, NH, VT, and ME, and is in charge of making a 98% completion rate or higher on 15-20 accounts.
  • John Thomas is currently working for US Airways as a First Officer Airline Pilot. John graduated in 2004 with his B.S. from the University of North Dakota Aeronautical Science Program.
  • Nick Wallace currently holds the title of Associate Director of Admissions at the University of Minnesota Law School. Nick graduated in 2005 from the University of Minnesota Law School with his law degree and graduated in 2006 from Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs with a Public Policy degree.
  • Tong Xiong is a Registered Nurse at Highline Medical Center on the surgical/pediatrics floor. He was recently engaged.
  • Joy Yang is currently a Physician Assistant at MinuteClinic in the Twin Cities area. Joy graduated with her Masters in the Physician Assistant program in 2005 from Augsburg College.
Class of 2001
  • Mario Paez is currently employed as a Business Development Officer for Wells Fargo Insurance Services. Mario received his MA in Politics, Economics and Business in 2004 from Claremont Graduate University.

Class of 2000

  • Mee Vang is Assistant Director of Admissions at the College of St. Catherine. Mee and her husband returned from California where she worked as a legal advocate. Mee is currently working on her Masters of Arts and Leadership at Augsburg College but would like to return to mediation someday in the future.
Class of 1999
  • Brenna Gau is currently employed as a Mortgage Consultant for First Residential Mortgage Corporation. He married Jenny Gau in September of 2002 and together they are proud parents of Hailey Gau, who was born in October of 2004.
  • Gabriel Mungia is an Artist & Fashion Entreprenuer for R&G International Trading Co. ltd in Shanghai. Gabriel has been living in Shanghai for 8 years. After being away from art exhibition the last couple years, Gabriel is making a come back with an exciting series of paintings and drawings ~"Urban Dreams".
Class of 1998
  • Genevieve Fabiola Genis is currently working in the field of social work with the Minneapolis Public Schools in the Check & Connect Program.
  • Sarah Knox-Nguyen is a Food Service Assistant Instructor for Intermediate District 287. Her job focuses on teaching high school and transition age special needs students cooking skills along with the interpersonal and job skills needed for the food service industry. Sarah and her husband, Hoa (see below), have 3 children: John, Kenna and Henry.
  • Hoa Nguyen is currently employed as a high school math teacher for the Minneapolis Public school system. He teaches different levels of math classes for high school students in grades 9-12.
Class of 1996
  • Xuan Hue Quach is the Director of the Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Summer Institute at the University of California Berkeley. In this position, Xuan directs the UC PPIA Summer Institute at UC Berkeley which is designed to prepare undergraduate juniors for graduate studies in public policy and international affairs. In 2000, Xuan received a MA of Education from the University of Minnesota, University of Melbourne, Australia in the Comparative and International Development Education Policy and Administrative Program.
