Connecting to Prime using Windows Vista
Follow the instructions below for connecting to Prime, the server that houses several software applications and installers.
Most people don't need items that are housed on Prime, so only connect to Prime as needed. Follow these steps each time you want to connect to Prime.
- Click on the Start menu and choose Computer.
- In the top button bar, click on Map Network Drive.
If the window is small, the button may be hidden under the >> (see below).
- In the Map Network Drive window that appears, enter the following:
Drive: P: Folder: \\prime.stolaf.edu\prime_w
Do not check the Reconnect at logon box.
- Then click on Finish.
- You will be prompted for your username and password. Enter your St. Olaf username and password, check the Remember my password box and click OK.
- When you return to the Computer window, you will now have the Prime/P: drive and access to software applications and installers.
