Connecting to the Campus Servers with Windows Vista
Connecting to the campus servers that hold your personal data files (stuhome), class folders and materials, and other shared spaces is quick and easy. Just follow the directions for the resource you want to connect to.
NOTE: If this is the first time you're connecting to the server, go through the configuring vista the first time instructions below and then continue on to the other steps.

Configuring Windows Vista the First Time
By default, Windows Vista security won't allow you to connect to the campus servers. You need to make one small change to let Vista know it's OK to connect to our Novell servers.
You only need to do this once.
- Download the new settings file by right-clicking and choosing Save Link as... or Save Target As...
- When prompted where to save it, choose to save it to your Desktop and name it stoservers.reg (notice the .reg ending).

- Go to your desktop and double-click on stoservers.reg
- If you are prompted that "Windows needs your permission to continue," choose Continue.
- When prompted that you are about to make changes to the Registry, choose Yes.

- The setting will be changed and you can continue with the steps above (highlighted box above)
