Rolvaag Library 330 Media Lab Assistant
Rolvaag Library 330 Media Lab Assistants are the people who help students and staff complete their multimedia projects. Often this position requires solving problems for faculty, staff, and students on the machines in the RML 330 Media Lab.
Duties
- Assist faculty, staff and students with hardware & software related questions.
- Troubleshoot computer problems in person.
- Write documentation to guide faculty, staff, and students through processes.
- Assist with scanning.
- Work on general computing projects.
- Work with iMovie, Photoshop, Microsoft Office and other IIT applications.
- Misc. office-related tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Outstanding people skills.
- Strong working knowledge of PCs, Macintoshes, and peripherals along with audio visual equipment.
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of PC and Macintosh applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, iDVD, iMovie, Photoshop, Final Cut, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, digital video, digital still cameras, programming skills, OS X.
- Good troubleshooting skills and ability to think analytically.
- Strong verbal and communication skills.
- Patience.
- Self starter and able to work without much supervision.
- Initiative.
