Media Event Technical Assistant
The media event technical assistant will have a working knowledge of campus media equipment. A basic knowledge of sound, video, and lighting is essential. Each technical assistant may need to be able to work evening or weekends.
Duties
- Assist faculty, staff and students and outside vendors and clients with audio visual needs related questions.
- Troubleshoot problems in person.
- Write documentation.
- Work at campus events.
- Work with sound, video and lighting equipment owned or rented by the college.
- Misc. office-related tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Outstanding people skills.
- Strong working knowledge of PCs, Macintoshes, and peripherals along with audio/ visual equipment.
- Operation of video cameras .
- Basic knowledge of sound systems (ability to set up and run).
- Basic knowledge of lighting (design, setup, and board op).
- Basic knowledge of video editing.
- Must be able to interact with peers, faculty and staff.
- Be able to work in teams and alone.
- Must have basic customer service skills.
- Able to work 5-10 hours per week.
- Good troubleshooting skills and ability to think analytically.
- Strong verbal and communication skills.
- Patience.
- Self starter and able to work without much supervision.
- Initiative.
