The Parents Fund

At St. Olaf College, the parents, grandparents, and families of our students are important members of our campus community. We encourage families to participate fully in campus life: cheering on our athletic teams, enjoying concerts and theatre productions, attending lectures, and sharing in such memorable events as Homecoming and Family Weekend and the St. Olaf Christmas Festival.

One important way parents and grandparents can participate is by making an unrestricted gift to the St. Olaf College Parents Fund. A part of St. Olaf’s annual fund, Partners in Annual Giving, the Parents Fund serves to strengthen the academic and co-curricular opportunities available to current students.

Revenue from tuition and fees covers just 72 percent of the cost of educating our students, meaning that the amount paid by students and parents each year is less than it takes to operate St. Olaf. A gift to the Parents Fund provides the resources that help bridge that gap.

In the past five years, St. Olaf parents and grandparents have contributed nearly $2.5 million to the college with more than 2,200 Ole parents making a gift each year. Their generosity has had a significant and meaningful impact on our students’ educational experience.

We invite you to join other Ole parents and grandparents in making a gift to the Parents Fund. To contribute, please visit stolaf.edu/giving.

Parents and grandparents are also invited to consider leadership gifts that target specific areas of need, such as endowed scholarships, or explore estate or other long-term planned giving in support of St. Olaf.
