This year marks the anniversary of your graduation from St. Olaf, a time to become reacquainted with the college, renew friendships, and celebrate St. Olaf family. As you return to campus for your class reunion, we hope you will consider how your reunion gift can help make the St. Olaf experience as unique and meaningful for today's students as it was for you.
How will my gift be used?
Reunion gifts to the St. Olaf Fund provide:
- Current vital resources
- Financial aid: The college is committed to meeting the full demonstrated financial need of every admitted student.
- Academic programs: St. Olaf takes great pride in its ability to attract and retain a superior faculty. Gifts to academic programs provide resources for student-faculty research and programming that directly benefits students.
- Student life: access to athletics, music organizations, quality libraries, and up-to-date technology.
- Campus enhancement: Consistent care is required to ensure that the Hill and the Natural Lands are impeccably maintained and environmentally sustainable.
When should I make my gift?
All gifts must be received between June 1 and May 31 of your reunion year in order to be recognized as part of your class gift total.
How can I make my gift?
Visit stolaf.edu/giving to give by credit card or set up a recurring gift, or call 800-733-6523. St. Olaf accepts all major credit cards, checks, and gifts of securities.
How much should I give?
Everyone in your class will be encouraged to participate in your reunion gift. Levels of support vary from class to class and person to person. Consider stretching your gift in honor of your reunion. Many have found that the “Sustaining St. Olaf” recurring gift program allows them to set their sights higher by spreading their gift out over time.
| Leadership Gift Clubs | |
| $25,000+ | Leadership Council: Regents Circle |
| $10,000-$24,999 | Leadership Council: Presidents Circle |
| $5,000-$9,999 | Fram! Fram! Society |
| $2,500- $4,999 | Old Main Society |
| $1,000 - $2,499 | Black and Gold Society |
Every gift, regardless of size is vital to St. Olaf. If you are not able to make a gift at the Black and Gold leadership level or above, please participate in your class reunion gift. Every gift makes a difference in the lives of today’s students.
What about corporate matching gifts?
Many companies will match employee contributions, in some cases doubling or even tripling your gift. Please contact your human resources representative to learn about your company’s matching gift policy and procedures for claiming the match.
What happens during Reunion Weekend?
Classes schedule their own events and activities in addition to the events scheduled for all returning classes. These usually include alumni luncheons, dinners, a downtown entertainment tent, speakers, extensive family activities, outings, and other activities of particular interest to your class. Even if you have not attended reunion in the past, we hope you will come back to the Hill to reconnect with your classmates.
What else can I do to get involved?
Join your reunion committee! As a committee member you can plan class-specific reunion events, create publicity materials, contact classmates via phone, email, or mail to encourage participation in your class gift and the reunion festivities and send thank you notes to classmates who give.
To join, complete the online volunteer form, email fund@stolaf.edu, or call 800-733-6523.
