Society for the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition Student Paper Award (http://www.nutritionalanthro.org/christinewilson2008.php)

The Society for the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (SAFN) seeks submissions for its annual Christine Wilson Awards. One award is given for an outstanding undergraduate research paper and another for outstanding graduate research paper. Papers should reflect a topic that combines perspectives in nutrition or food studies and anthropology. The two winners will be recognized and presented with an award at the 2008 AAA meeting in San Francisco and will receive a year's membership in SAFN. Eligibility is restricted to students enrolled or graduated in the 2007-2008 academic year. Papers may report on research undertaken in whole or in part by the author. Papers must have as their primary focus an anthropological approach to the study of food and/or nutrition and must present original research. Literature reviews will not be accepted. Papers that present new empirical research, evaluate a community nutrition intervention, propose a new conceptual framework, or outline a novel research design or methodological approach are especially welcome. Students are also invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentation at a panel at AAA meetings, but winners need not have presented their paper at the meeting. Submitted papers must be no longer than 30 pages, double-spaced. Please mail in triplicate or submit as an email attachment (preferred) to:
