On this page the viewer can find a semi-digitized portfolio of work which I have done
in the courses that I have listed for my major. This work includes Research Papers, Essays in Chinese,
and Power Point Presentations.
Because Chinese is one of my deepest passions, it has made its way into my other, non-language, courses. Below
are a few research papers relating to Chinese language.
Applying a Logographic Lens to Linear A
This is a research paper that I wrote for Prof. Howe's HIST 302 Research Seminar in the Spring
of 2007. The course focused on the Mediterranean Cultures up to 600 B.C.E. Linear A is an un-decyphered
script from Ancient Crete which, in my opinion, bears a striking resemblance to Ancient Chinese. I therefore
applied my logographic Chinese background to a field of study that mostly deals with alphabetic systems.
