FARMING EXPERIENCE

Farm Intern                               Asian Rural Institute, Nashiohabara, Japan                                         August 2008

Cultivated fields, planted and weeded vegetables, weeded rice paddies, cooked meals for 30-70
people and did animal husbandry for chickens, pigs and cows. Attended daily seminars on farming
and culture. Participated in classes on basic farming skills and planning. Lived and worked with rural
leaders from Asia and Africa, developing small scale farming solutions for rural populations.

Picked sweet corn and potatoes. Processed, weighed and packaged vegetables for sale.
Cooked meals for volunteers. Stayed with Japanese family.
