Welcome to Steven Braun's academic portfolio for Asian studies. Here, you will find a variety of media showcasing a variety of projects undertaken through the years 2007 - 2011 at St. Olaf College. The words quoted above - "the months and days are the travelers of eternity" - come from the opening line in Matsuo Basho's The Narrow Road to Oku. Its emphasis on journey, and specifically that of the individual through life, offers a particularly appropriate context for exploring my academic work over the past four years. Accordingly, in the process of putting together this portfolio, I have written a cover letter reflecting upon the role my Asian studies major has played in my academic and personal life here at St. Olaf.
