Course Requirements

1. Attendance, preparation and participation. You are expected to attend every meeting of American Conversations 202 with the assigned reading completed. Please let us know in advance (if possible) if you will miss a class and arrange to make up the missed work, including in-class writing. We will work together and in small groups. Participation in small group discussion is important. Come prepared . We need every voice, every question, every unfolding thought!

2.Oral presentations and essays:
February 13: Magazine Assignment. Advertisement & one page commentary.
February 25-March 1: Group presentations on 1950s culture.
March 4: 1950s culture essay. Three pages.
March 18-22: Multimedia presentations on the 1960s.
April 17: Literature analysis essay. Three pages.
April 24-29: Environmentalism presentations.
May 1: Meditation on three environmental questions due. Two-Three pages.
May 10-13. American Conversations Museum object and one page abstract due.
May 15: American Conversations Museum Object Analysis essay due. Five-Seven pages.
