The St. Olaf Christmas Festival was started in 1912 by F. Melius Christiansen, founder of the St. Olaf College Music Department.

Due to limited capacity and high demand, St. Olaf Christmas Festival tickets are available only to current students, parents, and alumni — all of whom receive ticket ordering information in the fall.
