INTERNATIONAL SERVICE OPPORTUNITY

January 18–29, 2010

Oles and parents: join lead volunteer Nancy Carlson ’82 on a service venture in Nicaragua. On this 12-day program run by Interfaith Services to Latin America (ISLA), alums, parents and students will work together with local citizens on projects that benefit communities in and around the town of Jalapa. This program provides an opportunity not only for alumni to mentor students, but to assist the college in a crucial aspect of its mission: challenging students “to be responsible and knowledgeable citizens of the world.”

Carlson led the first of such ventures in January 2008. Read an account of last year’s service venture here.
