Career/Education: A proud native of Casper , WY , Maggie Matson ‘08 left the wide open spaces for the Midwest to earn her bachelor's degree in American Studies and Studio Art from St. Olaf. During her time at the college, Maggie participated in Student Alumni Association, Black & Gold Corps, and P.I.C.A.S.S.O., an art awareness organization. To gain the perspective of the college's “bigger picture", Maggie had the fortune of working in the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations. She especially enjoyed the college's dynamic atmosphere through her work as a Student Assistant during Celebration Weekend and Homecoming. As a senior, Maggie worked with her classmates as the co-chair of the 2008 Partners in Annual Giving Senior Campaign. To explore her passions for art, culture, and good food, Maggie studied contemporary art in Manhattan and Italian Renaissance art in Florence during two consecutive January interims.
Personal: Maggie has enjoyed her transition to life in Minnesota and her travels around the Midwest . The daughter of a passionate alum and sister of a current St. Olaf student, Maggie has soaked up Ole trivia for as long as she can remember. She values good conversation, the outdoors, time with friends and family, writing, music, and a quality cup of coffee.
